Mitchell's Scaffolding Ltd were proud to be awarded a rolling contract to supply, erect and subsequently dismantle bespoke scaffolding structures to improve housing stock in the Lancashire area. The Local Authority Renewal Program involved repairs and renovations to up to ten properties at a single time, bringing them up to meet new standards for housing structures.
Lancashire's Local Authority Renewal Program involved a significant number of properties located in the Great Yarwood and Huncoat areas. The properties selected for renovation, which included everything from bungalows to buildings of up to four storeys in height, required extensive repair and renovation works such as replacing chimneys and renewing damaged render.
Mitchell's Scaffolding Ltd were contracted to design and install scaffolding to these structures, giving contractors safe and easy roofline access to carry out the necessary work. After the work is completed at a property, our operatives quickly dismantled the scaffolding before re-erecting it at the following property. This was carried out extremely efficiently in order to prevent any costly downtime and allow the ongoing project to continue rapidly.
As a large number of the properties scheduled for renovation incorporated gables within their structure, our expert team of operatives installed working table lifts to facilitate the process. To improve safety for contractors and prevent falls when working on non-rendered properties, our team also installed double handrail edges. Pedestrians passing below were protected from the potential of falling debris with the installation of dedicated gantries and double-roe boards, which were included in each bespoke scaffold design.
