Now that COVID-19 lockdown restrictions have FINALLY been lifted and the summer is in full swing, thousands of us are once again enjoying eating out with friends and family. Visitors to a Manchester branch of Nando's can enjoy their meals in comfort and safety thanks to work carried out by the expert team here at Mitchell's Scaffolding North West.
Nando's was founded in South Africa in 1987 by friends and business partners Robert Brozin and Fernando Duarte. After eating at 'Chickenland', a local takeaway, the friends were so impressed by their meal that they impulsively decided to buy the whole business for the equivalent of £25,000.
The entrepreneurial pair expanded their operations with instant, lasting success. In 1992, the first Nando's opened in the UK and there are now 280 branches all over the country, employing in excess of 8,000 staff members. Nando's is renowned for its take on peri-peri chicken though also serves up an extensive and diverse menu of other items including wraps, burgers, vegetarian options, along with a sumptuous selection of sides and desserts.
The Nando's Cheetham Hill branch is located at Fort Street Retail Park, a large and busy shopping complex in the heart of Manchester's City Centre. Extensive repair and renovation work was needed to bring the building up to scratch and the Mitchell's Scaffolding Blackburn team were contracted to design and implement a scaffolding structure that would allow for safe, unrestricted access to facilitate the crucial operations.
After carrying out a detailed site survey, our experienced team designed an appropriate scaffolding structure that was quickly put into place. Repair work began, with the branch remaining open and operational throughout. No disruption was caused to surrounding businesses during the renovations. After the work was completed, the Mitchell's Scaffolding Burnley team moved in to quickly dismantle the bespoke scaffolding structure.
Once the structure was removed, our operatives were understandably feeling rather peckish. We bet you can guess where they went for a meal!
