Suspended design Scaffold
Location: 2 Sisters Food Group, Scunthorpe
Project: Sprinkler System Installation
As the project draws to a close numerous smaller areas including the boiler room have required additional walkways, again the work has gone on without a hitch and continues to whilst the sprinkler install progresses on.
This work due to be undertaken over a 4-6 month programme began in the latter part of 2012 with the 2nd phase having begun on the 7th of January 2013
Mitchell's have a a number of scaffold designed to accommodate the installation of a new fire sprinkler system to a fully operational food production factory in Scunthorpe.
Given the positioning of the scaffold structures and scale of the project, Mitchell's are utilising aluminium tubing.
Phase 1 to erect scaffold and loading above and around a busy fork lift truck doorway leaving full operational access, followed up by the manual lifting vast amount of scaffolding tube fitting required for the work through an opening created specificly for the scaffold kit to be passed into the roof space of the building.
Once the materials were inside the scaffolding operative began the lengthy process of transferring the equipment the length of 3 football pitches before any assembly was undertaken.
with phase 1 now complete the scaffold is being dismantled to be re-erected for phase 2.
The project at Scunthorpe is now nearing completion with the last of the scaffold being struck the works should be signed off within the month of September and all scaffolding equipment taken off site
